2025 Summer Beach Read Exchange

 

Want to combine your love for reading with your love for needlepoint and catching up with other stitchers? Here is your chance to start 2025 in a bookish way.

Exchange a favorite book along with a bookmark with another stitcher.   There is no cost to you to join, though we offer finishing and canvas specials for anyone who participates using shop products and services.

How it works:

1. Register online through the link below.  You will be paired with another stitcher for the exchange.  We suggest that you touch base upon learning your partner.

2.  There are no limits to participating - meaning, if you want 4 partners and can deliver, go for it!

3.  Recommendations for bookmark canvases can include anything.  Generally, key fob canvases are wonderful - or cuff bracelets/napkin rings too.

There are several designers who make book mark canvases, including KCN, Kate Dickerson, Colors of Praise, Saturnalia, Love MHB, the Curious Cowgirl, Rachel Donley, Anne Fisher, Prepsetter, Atlantic Blue, Goodpoint and Frances Abel Studio. We’ve stitched MANY Jeni Sandberg key fobs as bookmarks too.  Please message us if we’ve missed anyone!

4.  One of our finishers will offer a finishing special to participants.  Anyone who sends their canvas to us by March 15th will have back the first week of June.  Cost will be $60 to finish (normally 90-100).  It will be a simple thin finish with a small ribbon on the top.  If you need blocking, there may be a delay or extra cost, so we suggest stretcher bars to make this happen.  Her space is limited to 30 bookmarks - we will let people know when we start approaching that number.  

5.  Jessica Tongel will teach a bookmark finishing class on April 26, time TBD.  We will post registration information shortly - it will be virtual and cost should be around $60-$80.

Pairings will be sent by Jan 18, 2025

If you wish to use our finisher, please send by March 15.  

We kindly ask you to make the exchange in time for summer reading sometime the month of June.  If you find you can’t fulfill any of these timeframes, please let us know.
