COVID - 19 Update: Store Closure Jan 26 - 18
Dear Poppypointe Stitching Friends,
Today, I received a text through the COVID – Wise app that on January 12, I had exposure to someone who tested positive for COVID. To be clear, I have not tested positive, nor have I experienced any symptoms. I’ve checked with our employee, who is also fine. Regardless, I am closing the shop to foot traffic until Thursday Jan 28th, at which point I will have my test results and can reassess the situation. I will post any other updates on social media and my website.
I’ve spoken with the Blue Ridge Health District and my doctor what this exposure means. Since I’ve shown no symptoms almost 2 weeks into the exposure, they feel that I am fine. Taking a test is the most prudent step, which I’ve done. And closing for the short term is also prudent, which we are doing as well.
I hope that I am being overly cautious, but I feel safety is paramount. After my father’s death last April from COVID, I grew increasingly conservative about COVID. We take safety, yours and ours, very seriously, and have been told by health department officials and doctors that we're going above and beyond in terms of procedure and policy.
We can still process web orders, as surface contact infections have not been an issue (according to my discussions with the nurses and doctors). We are waiving shipping fees this week for all orders.
